Missing items after email migration outlook 2013

Hi Guys,

We had hosted exchange with another provider, and we moved to 0365...now i backed up the existing email in Outlook 2013.

I then created a new profile and then did the import. A lot of items are missing.

I still have access to the old email account, how should i proceed to correct this?

Connect to both using IMAP/exchange sync and copy what you are missing.

You've not said what it is you are missing, contacts,?

Sorry, i am missing emails.

This is a large mailbox, i cant just simply copy and paste. its not even my mailbox..

The issue might be that the emails were archived and you need to import the archive.

Since you are migrated,  look into if these are archived, using pst import might .......

Check with o365 support to see if they batch ..... But you need to identify where these messages are.

should i just re-import and repalce duplicates?

this is the only user we had an issue with.
arnoldCommented:
If this is the only user, both are possible options.

Presumably the pst that was originally imported, had the complete list.  I would suggest you double check whether the missing emails are missing because they were not included in the pst .... And repeating will duplicate what's already there vs getting the missing in.

ill attach the pst and see if has the right contents before re--importing.

I really want to avoid duplicates in case it is indeed correct, will the 'replace duplicates' prevent this?
arnoldCommented:
Thought of another thing, double check whether the missing are part of a shared mailbox versus the user's own emails.

It might be simpler to attach and manually transfer what is missing, presumably the emails are part of subfolders concentrated versus being all over the place.  The issue might also be that the messages are marked as deleted, but the purge process was not run.........
