Current problem with Microsoft hotmail account security?

I have been using hotmail for both my secondary and my wife's primary email addresses, on my MacBook Pro with OS 10.10.5. Passwords have been saved using the Roboform Pro application. Starting this evening, attempts to access each email account was unsuccessful, with the message that the password was incorrect.  I followed the Microsoft "mail.live.com" process to update each of the two hotmail passwords.  However, after each apparently successful password update process, on attempting to access each hotmail account with the respective new password resulted in the same unsuccessful access with the message "password is incorrect".  I use the Webfoot anti-malware application provided by the Best Buy Geek Squad in Clearwater, FL in January 2015, but no apparent malware has been reported.  Is anyone aware of a current problem with the Microsoft Security process?

To try and pin point the problem, try to access your hotmail account using your web brower ,at least to see if the password is actually working!

Hi aboo_s & Malmensa: I was already trying to access each of the two hotmail accounts (via login.live.com) on my Safari (up-to-date) web browser.  I also have Windows 7 under Boot Camp, but I have not yet attempted to access either hotmail account via Internet Explorer in that domain.
I have also re-tried to access each hotmail account using each of the old and the updated passwords, but each attempts fails under "incorrect password" error message.
I will await further input from any other EE contributors who may have some knowledge of my situation.
Is it possible that my RoboForm Pro application could be contributing to my problem?
Meantime, I will try to access each hotmail account via IE under Windows 7 via Boot Camp on my MacBook Pro mid-2012 laptop.

Thanks to all, especially McKnife, for your useful contributions.  Although my Mac OS 10.10.3 system appeared to be working normally last night, except for the password change related problems, something appeared to be malfunctioning with my Boot Camp Windows 7 last night (the performance was so poor that I eventually had to use a forced power-down, given that the normal shut-down would not effect a complete power-off), when I attempted to check my hotmail accounts via each of Internet Explorer and Firefox. Despite this event, this morning my Mac OS Yosemite system appeared to function normally, with each of my hotmail accounts opening correctly (with the newly changed passwords). My Google and Facebook accounts also appear to be functioning correctly, the passwords also having been recently changed.
