Locals visitor statistics for Joomla Website

Hi All

I have a website here - www.mrtangs.co.uk

I am looking for a plugin or 3rd party product that can provide useful stats about visitors.

As the website for for a business which serves a local community we are mostly interested in visitors from people in a small geographical area.

I have tried a few weblog programs on my hostpapa control panel but they do not show sufficient information and I have downloaded several Joomla plugins but the ones I tried were not very nice to look at.

Ideally i'd like a stats program that reports the visitor information back to me by email which does not need to be installed on the front end of the site.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Google Analytics will be perfect for you.

Steps:

!) Open a new Google Analytics Account, Add your website and get the Analytics code for your site and save it in notepad for further use.

2) Download and Install this Google Analytics Plugin and go to Plugins Manager, ENABLE the plugin and paste the Google Analytics code ... save and close.

let me know if you want any more info.
thanks,
Prasadh
3) Google Analytics will now start monitoring your website and you will be able to see statistics after 24 hours in the google analytics Dashboard.

Thank you for the great feedback I am half way through doing it now just having issues with the Joomla Extensions plugin as https://www.joomla.org is not displaying correctly in my browser but will overcome that.

Trying Google Analytics first as I already use most of Google's systems
