Cisco ASA

I have a Cisco ASA 5505.  It has a 10 user license.  Can I upgrade it to more users, or do I need to buy new hardware?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Either you need to call cisco sales team and order "ASA5505-50-BUN-K9" license or you can contact any local vendor and they contact cisco for the license details.

Once you got the new license key, need to activate the ASA 5505 with new license and key and reboot ASA5505

Example:

ciscoasa# configure terminal
ciscoasa(config)# activation-key 0x32841048 0x4a497a37 0xa09392c0 0xb7090030 0x053bcbc8

ciscoasa(config)# end
ciscoasa# reload
Proceed with reload? [confirm]

ciscoasa# show activation-key
Serial Number:  JMX1316M41H
Running Activation Key: 0x32841048 0x4a497a37 0xa09392c0 0xb7090030 0x053bcbc8
