cannot connect my SQL database IDE

. I downloaded the latest version of my SQL. I'm trying to create a schema and  connect  it to NetBeans. When I  add  to the table to sakila  I  get a message that I can't save the model because it's not found in program files/my SQL/MySQL workbench.

I created a new model and saved it, but it doesn't show up when I connect my SQL to NetBeans.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

MySQL Workbench is a utility program, not the database server.  The database server can be found here: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/

I downloaded the server. That is not the problem.

Sakila is a Sample Database from MySQL and is created with SQL statements http://dev.mysql.com/doc/sakila/en/sakila-installation.html .  It will be accessed thru normal SQL queries.

You say above...
I  get a message that I can't save the model because it's not found in program files/my SQL/MySQL workbench.
which I why I said MySQL workbench is a utility program.  Your schema and databases will never be found there.
