import windows 2012 standard hyper v machine to windows 2008 standard R2

was trying to import a windows 2012 standard hyper v machine to windows 2008 standard hyper v manager, and it gives can't find virtual machine files.
what are the files that should be exported and how should these files be saved in the folder / directory so it does not give the error can't find the virtual machine files?

Put simply, you can't. Hyper-V machine files are not backwards compatible. The only option available to you is to create a new VM and attach copies of the existing VHDs. However if the VM had updated integration services installed or used features only available in 2012, even this might fail. It is not supported and I don't recommend going from a newer hypervisor to an older one. Bad things happen.

Back the VM up and restore it into the 2008 HV.

If you have scvmm make fizical (vm in 2012 hyper-v) to virtual.

Or you can try a tool disk to vhd (syinternals). And then import the vhd to 2008.
