Event ID 5586 on SBS2011

Hi experts,
I have an SBS2011 server that is getting event ID 5586 every 30 minutes...I know why it's being generated, its because I have the service for SQL server for Sharepoint stopped. I don't use Sharepoint and I've disabled all of the sharepoint services. This is the only event that now gets generated from sharepoint. It happens every 30 minutes on the half hour and hour.

Does anyone know what might be making the calls that are causing this? I'd like to disable it as well if possible.

You say you are not using SharePoint?

Have you checked that none of the SharePoint services are running/started?

SharePoint posts errors when it can not see the SQL databases like the one you are getting.

Make sure all SharePoint Services are stopped and disabled.

Uninstall SharePoint if not using

I've disabled all that I can find in services. Everything that says sharepoint is disabled. I've read other posts that warn of removing sharepoint from SBS because Microsoft "integrates" it with SBS so tightly.

If you just want the errors to no longer show on the report, then you should follow the instructions here in the Official SBS Blog "Managing Event Alerts in Your Reports - An SBS Monitoring Feature Enhancement"

Thanks Cris Ill take a look. I don't want them to show up, as long as they are not telling me there is a real problem. I'll take a look at the link today.

There are a number of post installation errors that show up in SBS by default that are actually not errors at all.  This process was created to deal with those, but also allows you to add custom ones, which of course you would only add to the list of those being hidden if you knew that they were not truly and issue.
