Video/audio Recording tool

we use an online training, for our employees. I would like to know if there is a tool that can record audio/video so that employees can use it when they are offline and not connected to internet.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

For screen capture as well as general capture and editing, Camtasia by TechSmith is very highly rated.  As an non-pro, I've used a couple of other video recording/editing products, and I after further evaluation recently chose Camtasia for my latest training/help project.  I'm very pleased so far.  I also went with Vimeo Pro for streaming the resulting videos (though you said "off-line", which might mean complete download;  you can do that with Camtasia too).

How to Record Your Desktop Using VLC Media Player
If you have been looking for a simple way to record your desktop and may be share the video on YouTube, then you already have the means. The means is of course VLC Media Player. There are many features of this software besides the ability to play videos of any format. Recording your desktop in your desired format happens to be one of them.

Hi
as you know there are sites that prevent downloading/recording video online, do you or the company own this video?
it's just you say>we use an online training for our employees, why not simply put the training video into a shared public folder?
Another option is to upload them to One Drive share it with those employees One drive will send a URL link to those folks in an email and they can download them then for offline use.
If the video are freely available to the public you can use the free KeepVid
Just Past the URL and it will download if there is no restrictions

Merete has raised a good point.  My first reading of the question is how I think codequest and Paul Sauvé interpreted the question.

>>> "...a tool that can record audio/video so that employees can use IT when they are offline" <<<

It all depends what you are referring to as "IT", the tool or the videos.

On second reading I think that Merete has understood what you want.  You want to DOWNLOAD videos that would normally only be available to them ONLINE so that they can play them from their own local files.  Is this correct?

I just use Cam Studio with a mic.
http://camstudio.org/
It saves in raw avi or SWF disable the auto play after recording and rendering is done..consider converting it later on using windows moviemaker to reduce the size or your preferred video editor. I used region and dragged out the rectangle

I like BillDL's comment on using what is available in PowerPoint. I was not aware of the ability to capture narration.  I've done a little slide and text animation in PowerPoint, and it can be quite refined.
