"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Control keymgr.dll for saved credentials to resources.

Reboot the laptop, while connected to the LAN.
Likely issue, user hanged the password on the domain but the laptop cached credentials are from a time before the password change, the user brings/connects the laptop that is already logged in with the old credentials...access attempts to any resource leads to lockout.

Any germinal serves in the environment the user uses?  Check for disconnected sessions there.

Not sure, your determination that it traced back to the laptop, reduced the possibilities.

Glad I could help.
