iPhone 6 - Can't download pics

I know I've posted this before.

I got an iPhone 6 about a month ago.

I want to download photos to my computer, I can't figure out how to do it.

All my old photos were transferred over. They are there in stupid named folders, the new ones are not there.

So I went into my iPhone, I found an organization of photos by year, I found the two I took today, I thought I found a way to email them to myself (as attachments), I did it, do not receive the email.

Questions:

(1) Is this the only way to do this? Sounds awfully round about?

(2) Why does the email not get received?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1.  Try using iTunes to transfer the pictures.

I don't like iTunes so I use iExplore to move pictures, movies, etc. from computer to iPad/iPhone and back again.

2.  Don't know.  Was the attachment too large?

Even though I'm probably going to use iExplore (as you suggest), I'm baffled about iTunes. It want's to run all the time. I opened it today, see attached. It's a TOTAL mystery about where in iTunes to even start.

There was a time, long ago, when Apple prided itself on intuitive usage. What happened to that?

I tried downloading iExplore & using it; so it looks as if I cannot copy a photo off the iPhone without registering (buying) it.

Is that correct.

If anyone else knows how to do this, PLEASE chime in.

I can't believe this is so difficult.

Yes, it is a paid program.  For me, was either that or struggle with iTunes.

And yes, I agree iTunes has definitely gone down in quality.

It used to be easier to move files around be with the latest versions it has become downright nightmarish.
