Shrew Soft VPN

Hey guys

I can sit at a laptop and install shrewsoft VPN client on it, run the program and connect with zero issue.  On the same network (behind same firewall) I install it on another laptop and it works for a couple of months and then I start getting Negotiation Timeouts.  I have attached the Informational Log file.  Any idea what could be causing this?

Are you using the VPN from both laptops at the same time? That *might* cause issues, though NAT-T should allow that to work flawlessly.
What we see is that there is no response at all. The IPSec P1 first message gets sent, and that's it.

I assume Internet is still working for that laptop at the failure time?
Did you check the firewall for some blocking warning?
Any particular firewall rules to allow VPN passthru, or fixed IP VPN passthru setting (for the returning traffic)?

To know for sure what happens, you would have to capture and analyze the related traffic on
a) the laptop
b) the local firewall
c) the remote firewall (which is, I assume, the VPN gateway  too)
but mayby you can first try to see some logs.

Ok, now I bring the same laptop to my office and it works like a charm.  It has to be something on the other network that is causing this issue.  Sorry to bother you guys.  I will give Q the points since he was the only one that responded
