How to change background of Visio file ?

Hi I create new file of Visio 2013. It is blank. But I want it to be background which contains a lot small right squares. Please see the picture in attachment. Any one can give me some suggestion ? Thank you

You can change the background by going to Design and background and choose the background you want

Thank you so much for your fast reply. I did that based on what you said. but I did not find that kind of background which usually is showed by default when creating a new visio file.

I think what you're looking for is the grid. In Visio 2010 and earlier, the grid was always visible when you started a new diagram. However, in Visio 2013, the grid is off by default.

To turn the grid on: on the View tab, in the Show group, select Grid.

Hi, Scott, Thank you for your reply. You are right. it can work, but some pages does not work. That means that I can remove the grid by unchecking that box, but cannot add the grid to the blank background by checking that grid box.

The only reason I can think of that you would not see the grid is if you have previously applied a full-page background image. For example, if you have done what eemoon suggested above and applied a background image, the grid will not be visible.

Yes, if you just go - "Design", than - "Backgrounds", you choose the background you want.
