Terminal service Server 2008

Hi All

I need to be able to run office on Server 2008 R2 over RDP (Terminal Service) Please con someone assist me, I have Office 365 but even that wont seem to work.

What does not work. The install on the RDS?m to install the application on RDS usually one has to use/have volume licensed version.

You're not including details beyond "it does not work."

Sorry I am unable to run office over RDP or install.

Have you changed mode from exec to install prior to your attempt?
RDS runs in exec mode, you gave to use a command prompt in elevated admin role, then run the change mode command.

Are you installing the pack, or an application at a time?

When you are installing, change user /install, make sure to change it back to exec when done.
Change user /query to see the current mode.

On an RDs/terminal server, the default operating mode is exec, no install is permitted/allowed without changing the operating mode for the session.


Open a command prompt (cmd.exe) run as administrator
Run the command change user /query of it says exec, that means you can not install anything. To install, run change user /install (leave this window)
Now you can run and install applications,
Once done with the install. Run change user /exec in the window previously left.
