"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You'll probably want the wrinkle tool and the smooth tool to convert and adjust your vectors.

This lady gives a good demo on video.  Please jump to 3:30 to see changing vector, but the whole video is pretty good.

Is that what you need?

Thanks I have across that video, but was wondering if there were any other methods

Many ways.

If it were me I would probably put the vector graphic in a layer and hand trace it in another layer, if my hand was steady that day and capable of giving the artwork the life I wanted to put into it.

I spent way more time with Photoshop than Illustrator and don't have a useable copy of either one currently to mess with it.  Is the graphic you provided the one you want to change, or does it represent the hand drawn effect you want on the edges?

Are you already familiar with layers?  Can look at putting an image into a layer here:

and the drawing tool setup shown here:
http://www.macprovideo.com/hub/illustrator/freehand-drawing-with-adobe-illustrator-cc

for ideas.

Have you investigated the effects available using Live Trace and Image Trace?  Are both available in your version of Illustrator?  They might be useful in creating a layer to trace.  Maybe not.

Maybe it would be helpful to try and describe why the video method above is not exactly what you're looking for to get this done.
