What version of Outlook are they using and what message are they getting?

Are they connecting via HTTP?  If so use Fiddler on the client and see what they are getting on the wire.

Be sure to use unencrypted traffic so you can read it.

What happens when they try to open the shared calendar using OWA?

And most importantly....has this worked in the past?  If so , what changed?
