setup ksh array errors

Want to use an array in ksh

echo $SHELL
/bin/ksh

if I directly issue the command on console, it is OK.
_COMB="A.B.C"
set -A arr `echo ${_COMB} | awk -F"." '{print $1, $2, $3}'`
echo ${arr[1]}
B

But if I put them in a script s.ksh
cat s.ksh
#!/bin/ksh
_COMB="A.B.C"
set -A arr `echo ${_COMB} | awk -F"." '{print $1, $2, $3}'`
echo ${arr[1]}

When I ran it, I got the error

s.ksh: line 3: set: -A: invalid option

Do any guru know why? How to fix it?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The script is not running in ksh but another shell. Did you make your s.ksh file executable?

If not try:
chmod 755 s.ksh

and then:
./s.ksh

Try changing this line:
set -A arr $(echo ${_COMB} | awk -F"." '{print $1, $2, $3}')

$ which ksh
/bin/ksh
$ cat s.ksh
#!/bin/ksh
_COMB="A.B.C"
set -A arr $(echo ${_COMB} | awk -F"." '{print $1, $2, $3}')
echo ${arr[1]}
$ ls -l s.ksh
