Unable to add Built-In Security Groups

Experts, I am unable to add any Built-In security groups to a 2012 R2 server folder share in a 2003 forest/domain. On trying to add the security group e.g. Administrators or Backup Operators to a folder share I am able to navigate to correct OU viz. Built-In but can't find any security groups in there.

I have removed server from domain and added back but have same issue.

TIA

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
