IE 10

I have IE 11 on my computer.

I need to install IE 10 to test an issue a customer has with our payment page in IE 10.

Can I install IE 10 "on top of" (replacing) IE 11?

If so, where can I get IE 10 & how do I install it?

Thanks

Hi,

you do not need to install IE 10 again on the machine which has IE11.

Open URL Press F12 then use go to emulation tab ==> user agent Setting ==> select Required IE version to test

I think you will find you must "uninstall" the IE11 update in Windows Update. Open Windows Updates and look for IE11 and remove the update.

You would do this if compatibility mode (suggested above) does not work.

You must have Windows 7 or Vista to use IE10

If you have Windows 8 or 8.1 or 10 I would recommend you to install hyper-v role on it. Install virtual Windows 7 and IE 10 on it. So you can have IE 11 on your computer and test IE10 on virtual environment.

To all,

I did what Haresh Nikumbh suggested. It worked like he said, but how can I know if it's using IE 10 or 11? When I go to help, about, it still says 11. User Agent is IE 10.

Is that what it's supposed to do?
Benjamin VoglarIT ProCommented:
It is just a simulation of IE10. We have tested IE and in some cases IE11 in "IE10 or IE9 mode" act different as real IE10.

As you can see. You can choose "Google Chrome" simulation. But it will never be "Google Chrome"

I have Windows 7.

All very confusing.

I never use IE myself, do all my dev work & testing in FireFox & Chrome.

Thanks

In our domain environment only IE is allowed. Because only IE can be fully managed with GPO.

As I suggested, see if you can uninstall IE11 in Windows Updates. If you can, that will work better.

What about using compatibility settings?
Dave BaldwinFixer of ProblemsCommented:
I thought if you uninstalled IE11, the computer would go back to the previously installed version of IE.  On my Windows 7 computers, that was IE8.  I was unable to find a way to install IE10, couldn't find anywhere to even download it.

Run this command as admin from command prompt (cmd.exe). Make sure you have admin rights.

FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /quiet /norestart"

This will force to uninstall IE 11 and roll back to IE 10.
