Have you installed the RDSH role, bought RDS CALs, and configured an RDS licensing server?  Remote connections require extra licensing that is *not* built into windows server.  Without purchasing the licenses and configuring them, windows allows only two connections *FOR ADMIN PURPOSES.*  Any end-user use is strictly prohibited for admin-mode and, if caught, can result in heavy fines.

Do you have QuickBooks Enterprise? That's the only version that works on remote desktop.

yes we have enterprise
Then set up a lab. DON'T DO THIS ON YOUR LIVE NETWORK!!! Until you've labbed it and understand how it works, what it takes, what servers you'll need, and how it changes active directory. Setting up and licensing a legitimate remote desktop deployment is *NOT* trivial.

man that seems like way way over kill for about 7 users..do you know of any third party software i can use on the server?
All remote desktop solutions such as Citrix still legally require RDS CALs and such. So no, none that will legally do what you want.

Which if you read Microsoft's license agreement, still requires RDS.
Yes, you need CALS
But if you check here http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msus/en_US/pdp/productID.255866500
windows 2012 Standart10 CALS

I dont know if this a versions/model option to order, or is the default.
