Barcode Label printing for asset tagging.

I need to print asset tags with bar codes. The Data will come from the database. The labels size should be compatible with standard label printers like brother, epson etc.

can any body suggest a good software or any tool  for the same

I print bar codes from Word using Mail Merge from an Excel spreadsheet. I use a Code128 function and a Code 128 font.

Which bar-code symbology (e.g. Code 39, Code 128, 2 of 5 interleaved, EAN13, QRCode, DataMatrix, PDF417) to choose depends on the number and type of characters that you want to encode.
That is true DansDadUK. I chose Code 128 because it is alpha/numeric and the bar codes are relatively short - especially for numeric only.
