"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You don't to set external URLs if the server is not internet facing.
You should keep it blank.

not sure what you mean by non internet and internet facing site?
Are they members of the same exchange organisaiton/domain?

Its best just to configure all the URL's so that its setup uniformly.

You can use the same URL and use split brain DNS with pinpoint records to resolve the names correctly with and without external access
