You need to know the password. If you do a complete reset to remove / reset the password, the camera roll will be deleted. You need to get the password from someone.

If you're able to type in the password to the phone, then plug it into the computer unlocked and you'll be able to import your photos via whatever app you normally use (Photos on the Mac and either Windows Explorer or Picasa on the PC)

If you can't tap in the code onto the phone's screen, I don't think the computer will allow you to unlock it.

How about checking your iCloud or iTunes backups? Restore one of those backups to a different phone and you should find the pictures on that one.

Try plugging the phone into a computer and see if it brings up the Windows Dialogue box (what do you want to do?)   That might get the cameral roll.

are there other options?

That is strange. All iPhones I plug in to Windows open the Windows Action Dialogue box.

Restart the computer and try again

Probably. The phone should do as I suggest so it is probably a phone problem.

I'd try an app like PhoneView. It's Mac only but might have a windows equivalent.

Have you already installed iTunes? - If the iPhone is password protected it could ask you in iTunes to enter this password to authorize the PC.
Otherwise you need to replace the display and only then get to the drive of the phone.

Out of curiosity, have you tried logging into https://www.icloud.com/ and clicking Photos?  If your iCloud account was saving photos to the cloud they might be in there for you!

If that does not help, then I recommend taking the iPhone to the Apple store to see if they can get the pictures off the device for you.  Make sure to take a flash drive with you so they can transfer them on there.

noxcho sort of answered your question for you (but I've done it several times)
Install iTunes, plug the iPhone into the PC and, when you then click on the device, iTunes will prompt you for the password.  Once its done that, iTunes can make an image backup of the phone and/or, you can tell it to sync all the photos to the PC.

Authorize a PC can only help you to download purchased app and music to the windows pc after you authorize the computer via iTunes.

You still need to trust the computer by pressing the Trust button on iPhone screen in the "Trust This Computer? " pop-up in iPhone when you connect your iPhone to a computer.

Without trusting the computer, nothing stored inside the iPhone can be copied to the computer and no "Windows Action Dialogue box" will appear.

How do I get to this screen
0
noxchoGlobal Support CoordinatorCommented:
As long as the screen is broken and you do not see anything on it - no way.

Jackie ManCommented:
Unless you have physical access to a computer which has been trusted by the iPhone 5 before, there is no way that you can access to the content inside it.

Replacing the screen is the only option, I think.
