Mass Import\Update Department field in Active Directory Users?

Hello EE, Does anyone know an easy way to mass update the Department filed for Users in AD? I have a .CSV file that has the User name and the Department. I was hoping to find an easy method to import this .CSV file and it looks like PowerShell could do it but I am not sure of the script I need. Appreciate any insight.

Use the following script...

Make sure that your CSV has 2 column headings called username and department Example below...

username    Department
wills               Information Technology
etc...

Import-Module activedirectory
$Users = import-csv "c:\filename.csv"

ForEach ($User in $Users)
    {

    $User.username
    $User.department

    Set-ADuser -Identity $User.username -Department $User.Department

}

Open in new window

Thats it.
