Symantec Backup Exec 2014 - RD1000 Cartridge does not eject after job.

Hi all,

I have a backup job configured to 'Eject the media after the job completes' However the cartridge never ejects and has to be done manually.

Thanks for your help.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I've seen this before. normally is happens on a SBS system.  What I've done is to make sure all updates are applied to Backup Exec through Line Update and Run Windows update.

Make sure you are using the Backup Exec driver for that drive. As I remember, Symantec had a special driver for BE.   In rare cases, I've had to restart services or the server to release a cartridge or tape. Since then, we have moved to disk based backups that are much more stable.

Since you are running 2014, you might still be in maintenance with Symantec and be able to call their support if necessary.

Hope this helps!
