Unable to Take Ownership of a Folder With the Admin account in WIndows server 2008 R2

I am having problems with a file that a user created on a shared folder located on a server.  He was the original owner and now has no permissions to the folder.  The parent folder allows this user full permissions to all child objects and the child is set to inherit permissions from the parent.  The really strange thing is when trying to take ownership of this folder with Administrator account I receive an access is denied error.  I have tried taking ownership both through the GUI and an elevated command line interface.  Any suggestions on how to gain access to this file would be greatly appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

plz use the below sysinternal tool to findout who have access on the folder.

Once you have a report, check if someone set deny access to administrator.

Use the ID which is having the write permission to get ownership on it.
