autodiscvover does not activate SSL

Hi Experts,

I have a new Installation of Exchange 2013.
I configured internal and external URL both as owa.domain.com
I have a valid SSL cert for owa.domain.com
I configured an SRV record _autodiscover so no need for an A-record nor to have autodiscover.domain.com in the cert

when I try to connect outlook via autodiscover, the .XML file is found and the account is set up
the strange thing is: the account doesn't work
when I review the account settings, everything is correct. Mailbox GUID, proxyname
but the checkbox "use SSL" is unchecked

that way it won't work
when I check "use SSL" the account is working

how can i configure aoutodiscover so that it tells Clients to use SSL?

thanks in advance
