Javascript bug?

See attached. Note in the function chk_vals there are a couple of alerts.

If I click the button "Start Over" it should show the alert, but it just goes to index.php.

This implies errors in the Javascript; I have turned on Error Console & firebug in FireFox; they show nothing.

I have to be missing something obvious.

What is it?

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You have "return true;" on both if statements so it should be going to the action page every time.  If you want it to stay on that page, you have to use "return false;".

Like I said, I knew it had to be obvious.

You're welcome. Did you see Dave's observation?

I understand how the return in an onSubmit Javascript function works.

Note that I use that as a trick to change the location where the submit goes for processing the results.

Thanks for pointing that out.
