That could very well be it for this instance. I tried that on the original NIC and it didn't work so I added this second NIC (which that setting was checked for this time) and it has worked great until now. Hopefully that was my issue this time and it will not happen again. Thank you!

Hello, we have been having this issue on and off for the past few weeks. A little background on what is being used - It is a Windows server 08 VM on vmware vsphere 5.5. The issue is that at random times on random days the file share becomes unresponsive. this causes personal drive access loss, Virtual machine loss and or slowness (due to profiles), and is completely unresponsive when direct paths are typed in for quick access. The server however seems fine there are no errors in event viewer, you can remote to it and work on it fine, you can open console and it seems normal, you can also ping it. Any ideas of where to even start troubleshooting?
