Windows 10 & Sony laptop touch screen

I have a Sony laptop that I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. It has a touch screen. Since upgrading a cursor pops up in the middle of the screen every so often & causes the mouse cursor to blink erratically. I discovered that the cursor that popped up had to do with the touch screen. When it popped up, I could move it across the screen with my finger, it would disappear, & the mouse cursor would function normally. It functioned quite well in Windows 8.1 & I never had this problem with it.

I have since turned off the touch screen to eliminate the problem but would like to have it functioning since I do occasionally use it. But having to deal with it when it pops up is quite annoying.

Has anyone else had this problem & discovered how to fix it? Or does anyone have any suggestions on it?

Sorry I have been away for a couple of weeks & haven't been able to keep up.

Thanks Jackie Mann! This Vaio came with Win 8 & upgraded to 8.1 right after I got it. I have disabled the touchscreen anyway for now. I was having a problem with the cursor popping up after a while & I had to touch the screen so that it would stop blinking & my mouse would start working again. I am not a big Sony PC fan but I couldn't pass up the deal on this laptop. Win8 worked ok but I still had problems.

Thanks for the news. Sony hasn't contacted me about any of this even though I registered the laptop.
Yes.

Manufacturers, no matter it is a big firm like HP, SAMSUNG or SONY, seldom contact its customers as they think that it is the responsibilities of the end users who want to upgrade the OS.
