Windows 10 & Sony laptop touch screen

I have a Sony laptop that I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. It has a touch screen. Since upgrading a cursor pops up in the middle of the screen every so often & causes the mouse cursor to blink erratically. I discovered that the cursor that popped up had to do with the touch screen. When it popped up, I could move it across the screen with my finger, it would disappear, & the mouse cursor would function normally. It functioned quite well in Windows 8.1 & I never had this problem with it.

I have since turned off the touch screen to eliminate the problem but would like to have it functioning since I do occasionally use it. But having to deal with it when it pops up is quite annoying.

Has anyone else had this problem & discovered how to fix it? Or does anyone have any suggestions on it?

Can you tell us the Sony Laptop Model?

It is related to driver problem. No fix on the OS side. Details are in the link below.

http://www.windowscentral.com/sony-dont-update-your-vaio-windows-pcs-windows-10-yet

Is your VAIO come with Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?

The site also has a schedule of when those drivers will be released. For VAIO PCs with Windows 8.1 installed, Sony says the drivers will be made available in October, while its PCs with Windows 8 will get those drivers in November. At the moment, there's no schedule for when drivers for Sony's PCs with Windows 7 SP1 installed will be released.

The only fix is to remove Windows 10 if you do not want to wait.

Sorry I have been away for a couple of weeks & haven't been able to keep up.

Thanks Jackie Mann! This Vaio came with Win 8 & upgraded to 8.1 right after I got it. I have disabled the touchscreen anyway for now. I was having a problem with the cursor popping up after a while & I had to touch the screen so that it would stop blinking & my mouse would start working again. I am not a big Sony PC fan but I couldn't pass up the deal on this laptop. Win8 worked ok but I still had problems.

Thanks for the news. Sony hasn't contacted me about any of this even though I registered the laptop.

Yes.

Manufacturers, no matter it is a big firm like HP, SAMSUNG or SONY, seldom contact its customers as they think that it is the responsibilities of the end users who want to upgrade the OS.
