I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I used to work as a lead test analyst for a company that developed their own firewalls (won't mention the name but they are mainstream). We used QAComplete as our testing platform for writing cases. Definitely work looking at. They do a trial, but not a free version, however it is reasonably priced (in my opinion)

Thousands of users have evaluated their functional testing tools on IT Central Station. You can see the top rated tools here, and read reviews evaluating their pros and cons, compared to other solutions. http://www.itcentralstation.com/categories/functional-testing-tools/top

Tosca Testsuite is one of the more popular testing tools. This user wrote, "We're Able To Create Reusable Data Classes When Using Our Test Cases, And Non-Technical Testers Can Automate Tests With Access To Information." http://www.itcentralstation.com/product_reviews/tosca-testsuite-review-33399-by-testmgr853

You also might want to check out LeanFT, a relatively new solution from HP. This user chose it over Selenium because "we Needed To Shift Left To New Development Practices And We Ended Up Using Selenium Without Native Java. We Ended Up Switching To LeanFT Because Selenium Couldn’t Handle All Of Our Applications." http://www.itcentralstation.com/product_reviews/hp-leanft-review-33059-by-joe-colantonio

I hope this is helpful.
