Webstorm and the other offerings from JetBrains are great IDEs. I use PhpStorm myself. At $49 and renewals at $29 for personal licenses, it's not badly priced for a paid IDE. If you're looking for a free text editor, I've heard good things about Atom (https://atom.io/) and there are plugins you can get for node.js. Atom only claims to be a text editor and not a full IDE though.

To start the node server, from the command line, you would type
node hello_http.js

where hello_http.js is the path to your node file. It would probably be worth checking out http://nodeguide.com/beginner.html for some quick start tips with node.js.
