I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

a distribution box is nothing more than a list of addresses.
when you mail that group, you are essentially sending a mail with EVERYONE in that group listed in your "To" Box, including yourself.

Your only way to stop this from happening that I know of is creating a custom rule on your client side that if it was send by you to the dist. group - delete it.
