WSUS - Reporting incorrect computer

Two questions:
1. WSUS is reporting a new computer with the details of its predecessor (IP, Computer Name).
How to I get WSUS to re-examine the new computer and update its details.

2. If I add a new computer to the network can I centrally tell it to the join the WSUS enclave?
Or do I have to run wuauctl/ detectnow on the workstation?
