"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do not do this manually. Run Disk Cleanup (Windows Admin tools) and when it comes up, click on Clean Up System Files. It will run for a bit and come up again.

Look in the selection list and check most things for deletion, particularly OLD windows copies. Click OK and the Windows.old folder will disappear.

I have done this and it works for me.
These files should be deleted automatically 30 days after upgrading. But the disk cleanup wizard surely works for those who don't like to wait.
