I agree with previous suggestions but you should try resetting the AppleTV to factory settings before you give up on it.<br />

We've had Apple TV for some time; worked great.<br />

About 2 weeks ago it started acting odd. When it's turned on there is a lengthy time (2 -3 minutes) while pictures flicker on &amp;&nbsp;off and there is some static. Then it shows the normal menu screen. If you try to select anything (like TV Shows), it goes back into the &quot;off&quot; mode, static &amp;&nbsp;off - on pictures.<br />

You can't use it at all.<br />

About 2 weeks ago it started acting odd. When it's turned on there is a lengthy time (2 -3 minutes) while pictures flicker on & off and there is some static. Then it shows the normal menu screen. If you try to select anything (like TV Shows), it goes back into the "off" mode, static & off - on pictures.

You can't use it at all.
