Absolute positioned elements

Is it ok (valid and stable) to have absolute positioned element who has a flexbox container with other items? What are the things that could go wrong?

Not sure I understand the question. But here is my input.

Absolute positioned elements take themselves out of the flow of the document - so they don't have any effect on the layout of other items (other than to potentially obscure or be obscured by them).

The only consideration I can think of is if you have another absolutely positioned item that want's to be relative to a grandparent or great-grandparent and you apply a relative style to the immediate parent to position your new item - that could result in the former being positioned incorrectly - but this is a function of absolute positioned items - not of the flexbox layout.

Bottom line - absolute positioning makes an element independent (relative to its parent) - and does not affect other children of the parent outside of z-index ordering of layers.
