Office 365 and SMTP

I have migrated my users to Exchange Online Office 365. I have placed in several new Savin 4305 copiers. Before the migration I had an Exchange 2013 server on premise that relayed the smtp for the copiers. Now that I have migrated I have lost the ability to use the Exchange 2013 server since It has been removed from my network. I need to know what method and how to setup that method to provide the ability to my users again using the Savin copiers to scan to email and also receive the donotreply@ emails sent from the copier.

Without Exchange on premises, I would suggest you look at other methods. Scanning can produce HUGE files, particularly when doing high resolution, colour scans of multipage documents. Sending a scan to a user via a distant mail server, through your internet connection is not a very efficient way of doing things, it will be slow, large scans will be blocked, and your internet connection could be swamped.

These sort of devices usually have the option of scanning to an SMB share, or a USB key. This would be MUCH faster, simpler, and reliable.

Hi

Following on from Vasil's comment, I always use an internal SMTP Relay for this.

To configure, short list:
Setup SMTP Relay (part of IIS Role)
Setup the SMTP Relay with Office 365 admin account
Point all internal scanners at internal relay

That's it.
