Learn VMware

I am new to the VMware or i can say i don't know anything about it. May i know which version i should start reading.  I need few links from where i can download the books in PDF . I would like to learn and read all the basics before enrolling in any program.

Please suggest me.

There are free courses on the vmware education site (mylearn.vmware.com)
