Internet Explorer Security

We have been told by the Bank that they are upgrading their security measures for BACS

Their quote says:

"Bacs Payment Services Website will only support TLS 1.1 and to use SHA-256 SSL certificates as a minimum".

Does Internet Explorer 10 and 11 support this and is there anything that needs to be changed from a standard default installation?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes IE 11 (and 10) supports TLS 1.1. Go to Internet Options, Advanced, and scroll down to security. You will see TLS 1.1 in the Security Section and it should be enabled. It is on my IE and I use Banks easily.

It should also be default. It was for me.

I never had to change Security Settings in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 and it has always been Enabled. So I think you will find it is Enabled by default. May be a north American setting for IE defaults.
