Exchange 2010 backups failing

Hi all,

I have Exchange 2010 SP3 on vmware and we have been using Veeam for the last 2 years. We recently upgraded from SP1 to SP3 in our Exchange and after a couple of weeks, the backups have started to fail. They are successful if I turn VSS off but I know there is no point in doing that. I even rebooted the server but still no luck. Any idea what could be the problem ?

What does the Veeam log report?

Did you try spend time on the support site

How is your exchange environment setup?

If you are in DAG, the server that  you are trying to backup hold an active DB Copy? If so move that copy to another, backup a server that does not have an active DB Copy... you should not have any problems and the logs will truncate..

ASKER

Unable to release guest. Details: VSSControl: Failed to freeze guest, wait timeout

This is what Veeam tells and after 3 retries, it stops.
Yes I do have a DAG and the databases are spread by activation preference.

Ok I will try doing like this tonight.
