unfortunately i cannot answer used different resources and went with 2 sockets for a few reasons, we are not exactly under resourced. <br />

now that we have 2 sockets were not removing 1 as that is bad practice in vmware. thanks anyway.

Is there a recommended spec I should use for an SQL 2014 server on VMware.<br />
This is especially relevant in relation to processors.<br />
<br />
Do we want to start with 1 socket or 2 sockets in vmware nevermind the cores for now we can decide on this. <br />
Is there anything recommended by Microsoft for the amount of sockets used? <br />

This is especially relevant in relation to processors.

Do we want to start with 1 socket or 2 sockets in vmware nevermind the cores for now we can decide on this.
