SQL Server 2014 build VMware server
Guys,
Is there a recommended spec I should use for an SQL 2014 server on VMware.
This is especially relevant in relation to processors.
Do we want to start with 1 socket or 2 sockets in vmware nevermind the cores for now we can decide on this.
Is there anything recommended by Microsoft for the amount of sockets used?
Somebody is going to ask is this clustered, no fyi.
any help appreciated.

unfortunately i cannot answer used different resources and went with 2 sockets for a few reasons, we are not exactly under resourced.
now that we have 2 sockets were not removing 1 as that is bad practice in vmware. thanks anyway.
