"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you mean the actual web server service or an Application Pool?

I'd be surprised if the Core IIS Services are crashing.  But anyway, the Main service running IIS is called "World Wide Web Publishing Service" which you can view using the Services console.

You can access it from the control panel > Administrative Tools.  From here, double click Services.  Scroll down to the "World Wide Web Publishing Service" item and double click it.

Switch to the Recovery tab in the service properties screen, here you have the ability to define the actions taken (if any) on a service failure.
