using excel to look up data
I have data that I would like to extract from another tab. The problem I have is there is characters in front of both sets of data. Is there a way to create a formula that will find the lookup even though there is miscellaneous data?
EX: I use Cow, Dog and Cat.
Sheet 1:
abdcdfeCowabcda
abdfddfDogadwfl
vfaewCatwqlul
Sheet 2 Column that i want to pull from
datadddcow some more data a
dataddddddDog some more data b
datadddaCat some more data c

This was a long shot. You are right there is not a way to look this up. I appreciate you helping me. I have to go back to the drawing board.
