Re: VMWare Horizon View ...

Hi Experts,

I have been working with VMWare View for some time now.

I understand in order to make a connection it requires ports 443 (TCP), 4172 (TCP/UDP) and for web access 8443 (TCP). There are other ports for USB redirection etc, but not important for the initial connection.

We have been having some issues with how to port forwarding these ports but found that these ports are exactly listening. When running a "netstat -an" at the command prompt, ports 443 is, but 4172 and 8443 isn't. Even is we try to telnet to these ports they aren't running.

Now this may be a dumb question, but is it possible that a connection to these ports is created once the authentication has happened and completed ?

I ask this because we seem to be having some issues with a Cisco router as we are using secondary addresses, all we keep getting is a dropped disconnect or a black screen, then timeout.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not see-ing 8443 on the list of ports on the client - View Agent .

Also remember that 4172 is also UDP which is PCoIP.
