Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.
same error. I wonder what that means and why we are getting that?

I don't know, but here's a thread at AndroidCentral that discusses it:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-note-2/247465-sync-currently-experiencing-problems-will-back-shortly.html

It's from a couple of years ago, but it may be the same issue. Also, make sure that your Sync is not turned off. Do this:

Tap Settings
Tap Apps
Tap Gmail

Scroll down to the Sync section where you should see these three items (may vary depending on the version of Android you have):

read sysc settings
read sync statistics
toggle sync on and off

Make sure it is toggled on. Regards, Joe

You're tapping the wrong Settings in that case. I mean the Settings on the home screen or in the list of apps screen (center button at the bottom of the home page). The one you described is the Settings in Gmail, not the main Settings.

It can vary depending on your version of Android and what launcher you have (some phone manufacturers put their own front-end on top of Android), but most Android phones have this icon at the bottom of the home screen in the center:

User generated image
Tap that and it will bring up all your apps. Scroll through them and find Settings (I use it so often that I put it on my home page). Regards, Joe

Sorry I didn't reply to your last post, but I never received an email notification from EE on it (sometimes EE fails to send out email notifications — simply a glitch in the system). I just now did receive the notification that you closed the question, which is how I saw your last post. In any event, I hope the fact that you closed it means you're back to syncing your Gmail properly. Regards, Joe
