HP VC Flex-10 Virtual connect - tunneling mode (Cisco <=> ESXi vSwitch)

Hi,

I have a problem setting up a virtual connect module in tunneling/transparent mode...

We have created everything by the book:

a) Disable VLAN tagging support
b) Created ethernet network with "enable VLAN tunneling"
c) Created server profile with transport /tunneling VLAN assigned as network
d) Created SUS towards the datacenter network switch
e) Configured 802.1Q tunnel from datacenter switch towards VC

With this setup we are unable to get the packets forwarded to VMware switch, tagged traffic is dropped at the ingress of the virtual connect.

When I tag traffic on the VC everithing works perfectly, but I want to avoid the VC-VLAN administration thus the tunneling need...

Solved by disabling SUS and transfering ports to tunneled vNet

Virtual Connect allows you to assign specific uplinks to the same Layer 2 Network (also referred to as a broadcast domain) by using Virtual Connect dedicated networks (vNets) or Shared Uplink Sets (SUS).
