turn video stream into mp4 file

I'm interacting with a video camera on a LAN
If I type this into IE, it opens windows media player and plays the video file (streams it)

What I need to do is call this in code in a console app, and save it as a file, (mp4) to disk
Does anyone have the code needed to do this?

or point me in correct direction

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

vlc can save a stream to disk without programming. I haven't tried it but read about it here:

Part of that example shows the args: --sout file/muxer:stream.xyz (where muxer is defined on the above mentioned VLC site docs).

VLC can definitely received the camera stream.  Check out all its command-line options.
Here's how to view a multicast stream on a network at address

"C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --no-disable-screensaver --qt-minimal-view udp://@

I'm sure you can add the other params to save it to a file.
