exchange files (all ext) between 2 OS X Yosemite Mac Minis

I want to exchange files (all ext) between 2 OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 Mac Minis

Mac Mini 1 <<< ALL Files >>> Mac Mini 2, that is no restrictions, security or other issues. There are no passwords, Mac Minis are connected via ethernet with Airport Extreme.

At the risk of being repetitive, and because I continue to be frustrated  with being unable to move/copy files between 2 Mac Minis on the same desk, I want to click and drag *ALL* files/folders between these two Macs with no complaints about permissions etc.

I hope this is possible, I am sick of copying files to flash drive to move/copy via 'sneakernet' (sliding my chair, really) . Sometimes I can copy files from Mac2 to Mac1'public' folder but not vice-versa.

PS. I don't want to lose the internet connection for either Mac Mini.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You should be able to turn on file sharing and set permissions

System Preferences--> Sharing
Check the file sharing box.

To connect to the share
Command k
or in Finder
Go --> Connect to server
Enter smb://IP_Address_of_other_Mac_Mini

More…

IP Address of MacMini #2 (TopQuark) is 10.0.1.2
IP Address of MacMini #1 (Baryon) is 10.0.1.46

On Mac Mini #2 'TopQuark'

IP Address is 10.0.1.46 (so reports 'About this Mac' regarding Mac Mini #1 'Baryon') - Issues:

Connect as Guest - Access to your account on the server "10.0.1.46

.46" has been denied. Contact your system administrator for more information. That's me, now what?

Connect as Registered User - Name 'JAMAROSX' Passsword: None, returns shaking dialog box. "Users and Groups" returns "Jim Lacey", No Password - returns shaking dialog box...

Connect as Using an Apple ID - System enters correct user name - returns shaking dialog box...
Same result with smb:baryon.local

So now I have 3 shaking heads and no connection - what now?

** Using above approach I can achieve Guest Access from 10.0.1.46 (Baryon) to 10.0.1.2 (TopQuark) ‘Jim Lacey’s Public Folder’ - which Is OK to copy/move files.

Why Cannot I do same TopQuark —> Baryon? Which is usually what I want to do.

Are you connecting to the other computer using the account on that computer?  Are the passwords correct?

Did you set the options and check SMB or AFP or both?

Did you set the user account to have full Read & Write access?
