O365 Tenant to Tenant Migration - Keeping same domain name
Hi Experts
We are in process of migrating SMTP domain along with users from one O365 Tenant to another
We are doing this with 3rd party tool call MigrationViz from BitTitan
We have users in o365 with mailboxes ranges from 1 GB to 30GB
The tool will migrate data from one tenant to another in cloud
The source tenant is not integrated with active directory. All identities are cloud only. They are not even using Dirsync
The target tenant having full functional Adfs and Dirsync
Problem:
Once tenant get changed we have to reconfigure outlook profile.
Is it possible to retains users existing OST file so that after profile repair / change it will pick existing OST
We don't want to download entire mailbox as OST again on client workstation
As per Microsoft, we have to reconfigure entire outlook profile and this will create new OST file.
Is there any way so that we can retain and use existing OST?
Because nothing will change except Tenant
User SMTP domain, email address, autodiscover settings everything will remains same
Any pointers are really appreciated
Thanks
Mahesh

You can try mapping the old OST after creating the new profile by using the ForceOSTPath key. Pretty much the method described here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2752583

Thanks Vasil
The article I think applies to all outlook versions, I have to check that.
However is it possible to just repair existing outlook profile from account settings instead of reconfiguring new profile and it will pick all settings of new tenant due to autodiscover?
Because everything remains same except tenant.
