Access 2013 software to protect demos

We need a software package that we can use to ship demos of our Access 2013 and have it secure from editing or coping.  Nothing expensive or fancy.  I'm not a programmer so I need something easy to package it so code can't be edited.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need to save your accdb as an accde. This is a compiled version as does not allow anyone to view the design of your database or access the code.

I also suggest you ship it using the Access runtime. For packaging I use the Sagekey tool. It is so easy to use compared to other options.

I do use sagekey.   I didn't realize that that would do that. Thank you

You have to use the ACCDE format. Ribbon > Database Tools > Make ACCDE to turn your ACCDB into a compiled version. Users cannot change your forms, report and VBA.  However, Tables, Queries and Macros remain completely unsecured.

If your database is an 2007+ format, you can take one extra step; once you have converted your database into an ACCDE, change the the extension to ACCDR to force it to run in runtime mode locking down even further what your users can do.

If you have that, create the accde, download the free Access runtime (you don't even have to install it).

Then use Sagekey to package the accde, and runtime into an installation package. I use it often - is so hassle free at the recipient's end. It keeps it away from any other copy of Access, so there's no conflict - installs more like a stand alone application.
